Spring Fishing at Utah Lake Honey Hole

Fishing Time: 10:00 am to 1:00 p.m.
Weather:  Partly cloudy, wind 5-10 mph, T-40s
Moon Phase: 92% Moon
Location:  Utah Lake
Bait:  Largemouth- jig and trailer, Bluegill and Carp- maribou under bobber
Who Went:  John, Me

After working long hours the last couple months I finally got a break and took advantage of it by doing some spring fishing down at one of my Utah Lake honey holes.  The water level at Utah Lake is down a few feet from last year, but the spot still held enough water to hold fish.  It was a mixed bag today with largemouth bass, bluegill and even a carp that fooled Bobber John into thinking he had the state record largemouth on.  We ended up with 7-8 largemouths, a handful of nice bluegill, and the carp.  All the largemouth were about the same size as the one I’m holding in the picture.  Spring time fishing is starting to heat up!
