Who Went: Me
I’m working in Tooele right now and got the chance to sneak
out an hour early when the drillers rig broke down. I took the scenic route home going south from
Fairfield down to Elberta and around the south end of Utah Lake.
By the time I got to Lincoln Beach Harbor I
only had a half hour to fish before I had to head home, but I took advantage of
it. I worked around the docks with no
success and kept moving east down the north dike. I was pitching a jig 5-6 feet off shore
working the submerged rocks hoping for the bass to be in shallow spawning. It didn’t take long to figure out that they
are definitely in full spawn mode.
I
caught 3 in total with the biggest in the 4-pound range. I also lost what was probably the biggest
bass of the night right at shore, and missed one more good hit. It was like pulling teeth trying to pry
myself off the lake, but I had to get home.
Not a bad trip for a total of 30 minutes fishing time.
